Yup, that's right... got the diagnosis yesterday. I have the dreaded gestational diabetes. Sigh. I do not know much at this point. I am waiting on the perinatal office to call and schedule an appointment with me to discuss diet and I have to learn to prick my finger... woo hoo! I'm not too worried. I know this is why they check everyone and they know how to handle it.
I am feeling fine... just tired, back aches occassionally, oh and swollen feet (I mean... SWOL-LEN!) Sprout is doing well... just kicking around and like I said last week, I LOVE IT! It makes me giggle when Sprout starts into a kicking frenzy. I will be 27 weeks tomorrow, which means 13 til the due date... aaaaahhhhh! :)

Oh Meredith!! PLEASE call me if you need to -- I had gestational diabetes with all 3 of my pregnancies. Trust me, in no time at all, you will be very used to pricking your finger :( My first pregnancy, it was very easy to control my blood sugar levels with diet and exercise. Second, I had to take an oral med; third, insulin shots. Hang in there! On the plus side, I got to have way more ultrasounds than a typical pregnancy so by the time it was over, I could've wall-papered a wall with ultrasound pics :)
Sorry to hear that! My sister-in-law had it with her pregnancy and it is a very healthy diet that they will put you on. She had only gained 13 lbs total when she was about 36 weeks if that tells you just how healthy it was!! She had a perfectly healthy baby about 2 weeks ago.
Hang in there!
